How to Install USB 3.0 Drivers on Windows 11 ?
Windows 11 typically installs USB 3.0 drivers by default. If USB 3.0 devices aren't working, however, the USB 3.0 drivers may be missing or corrupt. A fresh install could fix the problem. Here's how to install USB 3.0 drivers on Windows 11.
Follow these steps to install USB 3.0 drivers on Windows 11.
1. Open the Windows Start menu and perform a Windows Search for Device Manager. Device Manager should appear as the first result. Select it.
2. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers category in Device Manager.
3. If it is visible, right-click USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) and then click Uninstall device. If it's not visible, proceed to the next step.
Some PCs will display multiples USB 3.0 hubs. Uninstall every entry shown before proceeding.
4. Open the Action menu in Device Manager and select Scan for hardware changes. Windows 11 will automatically search for devices, including the USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) and install drivers.
If successful, the USB Root Hub (USB 3.0) will reappear in Device Manager. Reboot your PC if it does not appear.
How to Install USB 3.0 Drivers With Windows Update ?
The steps above will install USB 3.0 drivers on Windows 11 but won't update them. That could be a problem if your USB 3.0 driver is faulty. While you can update drivers through Device Manager, Windows Update is the better choice.
1. Open the Windows Start menu and select the Settings app.
2. Select Windows Update from the left-hand menu.
3. Tap Advanced options.
4. Select Optional updates.
5. Expand Driver updates and select the drivers shown. Then tap Download & Install. Download and installation may take some time, but you can continue to use your PC while this happens in the background.
How to Manually Install USB 3.0 Drivers on Windows 11 ?
The steps in this guide will install USB 3.0 drivers on most PCs, but you may face issues if Windows 11 doesn't recognize the make and model of your PC. You'll need to track the drivers down and manually install them.
Your PC manufacturer's support website will often provide these drivers. Support sites differ between manufacturers, so we can't provide step-by-step instructions. However, you'll generally need your PC's model number or serial number to search for your PC. This can be found on a label printed on your desktop or laptop.
If drivers aren't available through your PC manufacturer, or the PC is a custom build, you can try downloading drivers directly from the manufacturer of your PC's motherboard. Download a Windows system information tool and launch it. Note the brand and model number of the motherboard manufacturer, head to the manufacturer's support site, and search for the motherboard model number. This may lead you to USB drivers you can download and install.
How to Fix a Driver Power State Failure Windows 10 Error ?
If you see a blue screen of death on your Windows 10 system and the error at the bottom reads DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE, you'll need to try a few things to resolve the issue.
Cause of Driver Power State Failure in Windows 10
The Driver Power State Failure usually occurs when a device driver on a Windows 10 system goes into sleep mode while the device is in use.
Normally when this happens, Windows sends a command to the driver to wake it up. If the device driver doesn't respond in a certain amount of time, Windows 10 launches the blue screen window and restarts the system.
This error usually occurs when a driver is outdated or corrupted, or when installing a driver that's incompatible with the system. The most common drivers that cause this error are the graphics card and the Wi-Fi adapter.
How to Fix a Driver Power State Failure in Windows 10 ?
There are a few things that can cause this problem, but it's relatively easy to systematically troubleshoot and fix this error.
1. Restart the computer. Sometimes, the Driver Power State Failure is caused by a temporary power glitch. If it only happened once, a restart could resolve the issue, and you may never see the error again.
2. Disable antivirus software. Sometimes, antivirus software can interfere with Windows system files and cause the Driver Power State Failure. You can test if this is the case by disabling the antivirus software, then rebooting the system.

Also, go into Windows Adapter Settings and set both power settings to Maximum Performance.
4. Fix corrupted files. The Driver Power State Failure message is sometimes caused by file corruption of one or more device driver files. You can fix corrupt files by running an SFC scan on the system.
5. Revert to the previous driver version. If you recently updated any hardware drivers, especially for a Wi-Fi or graphics card, that is the most likely cause of the error. Try rolling back the driver to the previous version, then restart the system to see if the error goes away.
6. Update device drivers. If you don't want to leave the power savings options turned off, update the device drivers. Many times, the Driver Power State failure is caused by either an outdated or corrupt driver, and updating to the latest version resolves the issue.
7. Download and install the correct driver. Make sure you have the correct device driver for your system. Visit the device manufacturer's website and confirm that you downloaded the latest version of the driver. If the driver still doesn't work, contact the manufacturer's technical support for other options.
8. Use driver updater tools. If you haven't installed any new hardware and you're unsure which device driver caused the problem, run a free driver updater tool. These tools determine if the correct and latest versions of all hardware drivers are installed on the system.

Directly From the Hardware Manufacturer
The first and best place to look for free device drivers is from the hardware manufacturer's website. These are the original drivers that the manufacturer itself is handing out—go there before you look anywhere else. You simply download them and then update the driver on your computer.
For example, if you've just purchased a Logitech webcam or an NVIDIA video card for your computer, you can visit the Logitech Support page or NVIDIA Driver Downloads page to find and download the right driver that it needs in order to work correctly.
Using a Trusted Software Sharing Website
In the rare situation that you can't find drivers for your hardware at your hardware manufacturer's website, there are several other driver download sources available, such as DriverGuide.
This might happen if the company is out of business or you're looking for a driver for a very old piece of hardware. No matter the reason, you shouldn't have to pay for it.
Once you download the driver, updating it is a very easy task that anyone can do.

Please know that you do not need to update your drivers on a regular basis. If you're not experiencing issues with your hardware, and you're not looking for additional features, then you don't need to update your drivers at all.
For example, if your sound no longer works, it's possible the sound card driver has been corrupted or removed, in which case you can reinstall the sound card driver. However, if your sound card has been working fine, there isn't a requirement to update it even if it could be updated to a new version.
